Naani, Nitya Menon's Sega

Naani and Nitya Menon are back together. After the super hit, Ala Modalaindi, they will be seen in another film titled Sega.
The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil (in Tamil it is titled Veppam). Gautham Menon's associate Anajana has directed this film and the movie will be releasing both in Telugu and Tamil at the same time.
Ashok Vallabhaneni is producing the film on Manadesam movies banner. "Both Nandini Reddy, director of Ala Modalaindi and Anjana are good friends. Like Nandini brought novelty with her film, Anjana also made this movie in different manner. The movie is all about the youth and their temperamental nature," producer said.
The film also has Bindu Madhavi in another key role and has music by Joshua Sridhar of Premiste fame. Sega will release shortly.

Sachin wants to go out and see public reaction

India erupted to unprecedented celebrations after the cricket World Cup triumph and iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar says he wants to witness the "reaction from the public" as the team had won the title because of the best wishes of the countrymen. "It was fabulous (to win the World Cup). It has not sunk in yet because we have not gone out and face the public, all the Indian people. It is extremely important to understand their reaction," Tendulkar said. "All of them must be watching the final on TV but to actually go out and understand their reaction is very important. I am actually looking forward to do that. We have won because of their best wishes," he said in the audio tapes released by the ICC. Tendulkar described the World Cup triumph as the ultimate achievement in his career. "As a young boy I grew up dreaming of lifting the World Cup some day and I always wanted to do that. While trying to do that there were lots of things that …

All the members of India's World Cup winning team would get the first AC lifetime Railway pass. They could travel with one companion each for unlimited free travel with the Railways, a railway ministry release said today. Banerjee said, "I have always believed that…

Poonam Pandey, Mallya dragged to court on Nudity

Model Poonam Pandey, who has vowed to strip naked if India wins the World Cup cricket title, has been dragged to court here, with a lawyer accusing her of depicting Brahmins in poor light. R K Pandey also named Indian liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who included a scantily-clad Poonam in his company Kingfisher calendar, in his petition filed in the court of Bhopal's chief judicial magistrate.
Mallya has been accused of prompting Poonam to go for nudity. 'Even if Poonam does not run naked, she should be punished as she not only gave a wrong impression of the (Brahmin) community but insulted Indian culture,' the lawyer told reporters. The case will be heard April 5.

India played their best game in the final: Kapil Dev

Former captain Kapil Dev on Sunday said that India played their best game of the World Cup in the summit showdown against Sri Lanka and they deserved to lift the coveted trophy. "In the final only, the boys played to their true potential and that showed the strength of the team and its determination to win," Kapil, the 1983 World Cup winning captain said. "In the final, another striking aspect was the manner in which the team fielded, fielding was the best in the final and they played the best form of cricket in the final. Also, the fact that the middle order did not tear apart in the final is remarkable," he said. Kapil said that he was very clear before the start of the tournament that India would win the World Cup as they were the most balanced side in the competition. "I was very clear in my mind even before the start of the tournament that India will win the World Cup because they were the only team which was balanced. I am not saying this a…

Sachin holds aloft the World Cup with his long-time fan

Sachin Tendulkar walked out of the changing room and gestured to Sudhir Gautam to come up. Gautam is the thin, pale man with a shaven head and body covered in the Indian tri-colour. He is the man you would have seen recently with a miniature replica of the World Cup hanging atop his head. For at least half a decade now, Gautam has been Tendulkar’s biggest fan, waving the Indian flag and blowing his conch shell at every venue Tendulkar plays. Today, Tendulkar decided to repay Gautam for his devotion. No sooner had he realised that Tendulkar was calling, than Gautam jumped the electronic advertising hoarding and then skipped up the 30-odd stairs on to the corridor of the Indian changing room. All through his short journey he screamed in delight. Tendulkar shook hands with him, then embraced him and finally asked one of his team-mates to get the World Cup trophy. Zaheer Khan brought the cup outside with utmost care and held it tight. Gautam virtually snatched it…
